3-D Ultimate vs Machine Body Contouring Technologies

3D-lipo first launched back in 2012. They started with a small machine offering Cavitation and Radio Frequency technologies. 7 years on, the technology on offer from the company has fast evolved, with each machine becoming more advanced, and offering a larger variety of technologies within a single platform.

Now in 2019, the 3D-Ultimate VS machine offers Cavitation, Radio Frequency, Duo Cryolipolysis and Shockwave technologies.

Since the launch of the very first 3D-lipo machine in 2012, 3D-lipo Ltd, as a company, has won numerous awards for these devices and treatments, with the 3D-lipomed being commended ‘Treatment of the Year’ in the Aesthetics Awards 2015 and 3D-lipo being commended ‘Best UK-Based Manufacturer’ in the Aesthetics Awards 2017. The body contouring devices have been extensively featured in the press and are a firm celebrity favourite with Dr Leah and Lord Sugar launching the 3D-lipomed machine in 2014 amongst a media frenzy!

What is the 3D-Ultimate VS?

The 3D-Ultimate VS is a compact multi-technology platform that is designed to offer a complete and prescriptive approach to non-surgical face and body treatments. With fat freezing, fat melting, skin tightening, and cellulite treatments all available, you can easily create bespoke treatment plans to target your client’s concerns.

How Does it Work?

Each technology on the 3D-Ultimate VS targets a different area of concern and works differently to treat this area.

Cryolipolysis

Cryolipolysis is used to target pockets of fat and is mostly suitable for those between a UK size 10-16. This treatment works by using a vacuum handpiece to suck the target area inside. The plates inside the handpiece then cool the fat within the area down to between -5 and -6 degrees Celsius, causing the fat cells to crystallize and undergo localised cell death (apoptosis). 20-40% of the fat cells in the treated area die in a natural way and dissolve over a course of weeks via the body’s natural waste removal process. Results are seen after six weeks if the fat freezing treatment has been combined with shockwave and after twelve weeks if Shockwave hasn’t been used.

Cavitation

Cavitation uses ultrasound technology and is predominantly a circumference reduction treatment which is great for inch loss. The ultrasound wave disrupts the cell membrane of the fat cell by creating a vibration within the fat layer. The fat cells don’t have the capacity to withstand this vibration and very quickly break down, being naturally removed from the body through the lymphatic system. Results from this treatment are often instant with a 1-3cm loss seen per treatment, however, the results are progressive and will improve throughout a course of 8 treatments.

Radio Frequency

Radio Frequency on the 3D-Ultimate VS can be used for both a fat melting treatment and as a skin tightening treatment depending on your client’s concern.

When using Radio Frequency for fat melting, the hand-piece delivers energy to approximately 1-2 cm beneath the skin to reach the fat cells and heats the area to 40 degrees Celsius – the temperature at which fat cells will start to melt and metabolise. This temperature causes the cells to ‘squash’ and releases a number of triglycerides into the body that is released through our natural waste system, resulting in a smoother appearance.

When using Radio Frequency for skin tightening, the area is also heated to 40 degrees Celsius. However, this hand-piece targets a depth of 3-4mm to increase the synthesis of new collagen and elastin fibres. This tightens the appearance of the skin and can also help to create a lifting effect.

For both of these treatments, a course of 8 sessions is recommended and results can be seen from as early as the first treatment.

Shockwave

Shockwave can be used for a variety of reasons – to treat cellulite, skin tightening and also to improve lymphatic drainage to accelerate the results of other treatments.

Ultrasound waves are pulses generated by compressed air that drives a projectile in a cylinder located inside the handpiece to a shock transmitter. The mechanical effects produced can shrink and permeate fat cells. It also softens and strengthens the connective tissue, helping to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Shockwave uses the body’s own ability to repair itself after the trauma of the shockwave, increasing the stimulation of the blood flow, expanding the size of existing blood vessels. This effect encourages new cell growth, creating a much healthier cellular regeneration within the treated area.
