How Does It Work?

A thin layer of carbon is applied to clean skin.

The carbon settles across the surface and into areas of congestion. The Pico laser is then passed
over the skin, targeting the carbon and creating a gentle exfoliating and cleansing eﬀect. The treatment helps lift surface debris and leaves the skin feeling refreshed.

What Does It Feel Like?

You may hear light snapping sounds and feel gentle warmth or tingling as the laser passes over the carbon.

Most clients ﬁnd the treatment comfortable.

Is There Downtime?

There is usually minimal downtime, although temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity or dryness can occur.

The skin should be treated gently afterwards and protected with SPF.

Is It Suitable for Acne?

The carbon facial may help improve the appearance of oiliness and mild congestion.

Active, inﬂamed or severe acne should be assessed before treatment.

How Often Can I Have It?

A one-oﬀ facial can be booked before an occasion, but a course may be recommended for ongoing congestion, oiliness or textural concerns.

Is this the same as a chemical peel?

No. A carbon laser facial uses a carbon mask and laser energy. It does not rely on chemical acids to exfoliate the skin.

Will my skin peel afterwards?

Heavy peeling is not normally expected, although mild dryness or ﬂaking can occur.

Can I wear makeup afterwards?

It is generally best to keep the skin clean and makeup-free immediately after treatment. Your practitioner will advise when you can safely resume your normal routine.

Is it suitable before a special occasion?

It can be a good pre-event facial, but ﬁrst-time clients should not schedule treatment immediately before an important occasion in case of an unexpected reaction.
